WA Para Team at the Nationals

This page celebrates the achievements of the Western Australian State Para Table Tennis Team at the National Championships, held annually since 2003. It also recognises Western Australian players who have represented Australia at the Paralympic Games.

2026 Table Tennis National Championships, Goulburn, NSW. July 6-9

Team: Jetson Wood, Lenny Properjohn, Chana Watton

• GOLD in Class 6-7 Teams, Lenny Properjohn & Jetson Wood.
• GOLD Lenny Properjohn in Para Class 6 Singles.
• SILVER Chana Watton in Para Class 6-10 Women's Doubles
• BRONZE Lenny Properjohn in Para Class 6-10 Open Singles.
• BRONZE Jetson Wood & Chana Watton in Para Class 6-10 Mixed Doubles.

2025 Table Tennis National Championships, Traralgon Victoria

Team: Lennard Properjohn and Jetson Wood.

It was a small compared to previous years, but a very successful team. The highlight was the team winning gold in the Class 6-7 team event. It was the first WA para team to win the team event (results going back to 2012). While WA player Connor Johnstone also won gold in the teams event in 2016, it was part of a presidents team.

2024 National Championships, Mandurah WA, 7-14 July

Team: Garth McNeil, Matt Young, Lennard Properjohn, Ian Kruger and Jetson Wood.

• Lenny Properjohn & Matt Young won silver medal in the AWD class 6-7 team event.
• Lenny Properjohn silver in Open Class 6-11 U23 Standing Singles
• Lenny Properjohn silver in Open Class 6 Standing Singles
• Lenny Properjohn bronze in Open Class 6-11 Standing Singles
• Matthew Young Silver in Class 7 Singles
• Ian Kruger played in the President team for class 8-11 and won bronze.

2023 National Championships 2-9 July 2023, Sydney Olympic Park, NSW

Team: Matt Young, Lennard Properjohn, Garth McNeil.

• Lenny Properjohn & Matt Young won silver medal in the AWD class 6-7 team event.
• Class 6 Men's Singles, Lenny Properjohn: Bronze
• Open Class 6-10 Men's Standing Doubles, Matt Young & Lennard Properjohn: Bronze
• Open Class 6-11 Youth U23 Standing Singles: Silver

2022 National Championship 3-10 July, Caloundra Indoor Stadium, Sunshine Coast

The WA para team comprised: Matthew Young, Lenny Properjohn and Garth McNeil. Lenny Properjohn won gold, Matthew Young silver, and Garth McNeil bronze.

• CLASS 6-11 UNDER 23 SINGLES – Gold: Lennard Properjohn (WA), Silver: Matthew Young (WA)
• CLASS 6 MEN’S SINGLES – Gold: Lennard Properjohn (WA), Bronze: Garth McNeil (WA).
